Because cancer picked the wrong woman!

Why I’m Walking for Women’s Cancer

Hi, I’m Dianna — breast cancer survivor, professional practical joker, caffeine addict and living proof that listening to your body can save your damn life.

I’m walking for women’s cancer because I found my lump myself… and for a while, I ignored it. I told myself I was being dramatic. I told myself it was nothing. Turns out, it was something.

A very big something.

Cancer doesn’t just mess with your body — it messes with your head, your confidence, and your idea of who you are. One minute you’re planning life, the next you’re learning words like biopsychemo, and radiation. Not exactly on anyone’s vision board.

So now I walk for:

  • the women who are too scared to check
  • the women in the middle of treatment
  • the women who didn’t get the chance to make jokes about it
  • and for myself, because surviving this gave me a loud mouth and a mission

I refuse to let cancer be a quiet, shameful thing we don’t talk about. I talk about it with honesty, humour, and zero filter — because awareness works better when people are actually listening.

I’m building a team of legends to walk with me. Not just to raise money, but to raise hell (and awareness). We’ll walk with purpose, with sass, and probably with inappropriate jokes on our shirts.

If cancer has touched your life — or if you just believe women deserve better outcomes — come join my team. Walk beside me. Laugh with me. Help me turn my survival into something that helps save someone else.

Because cancer picked the wrong woman.

And now we’re walking back at it.

Have the day you deserve, cancer. 💅

Love,
Dianna 🩷

My Updates

Cancer Stops With Me!

On Saturday 2 May 2026, I'm challenging myself to walk 35km as part of the New Town Toyota Walk for Women's Cancer. I'm doing this Walk to do something big for our mums, sisters, daugthers, friends and loved ones living with cancer.

This year I'm committed to raising vital funds for women’s cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research because the women we cherish deserve to live longer, healthier lives free from cancer.

There is so much more to be done to ensure that women of WA confronting cancer stay with us for as long as possible. I am training and fundraising in the lead up to the event. I would be so grateful for your support. If you can't join me (I'd love your company), please give generously to my donation page.

I don't want anyone to have to hear "You have cancer". Please help me and the Perkins make that happen.

Let’s walk towards a cancer-free future – together.
