Cancer Stops With the Storm Hooters!

On Saturday, 2 May 2026, the incredible Storm Hooters – aka me and my Mum (because apparently, surviving breast cancer together wasn’t enough),  are going to challenge ourselves in the ultimate test of endurance: walking 35km as part of the New Town Toyota Walk for Women’s Cancer.

Why, you ask?

Well, because we want to raise some serious cash for women's cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.  And let’s be honest – if our mothers, daughters, sisters, and besties are going to kick cancer’s butt and keep living their fabulous lives, we really need to make that happen.

We’ve been through the wringer ourselves (cancer, you’re no match for us), and we know firsthand how crucial this research is. So, we’re putting on our sneakers, doing all the training (okay, mostly talking about the training & snacking), and fundraising like there's no tomorrow. And yes, we would love for you to join us on this sweaty, blisters-are-optional adventure. But if you can’t walk alongside us, please – at least walk on over to our donation page and drop a few bucks for a cause that truly matters & share our page with your awesome friends & family.

We want cancer to stop with us. It’s time for it to pack its bags and never come back. So, let’s walk towards a future where cancer is a distant memory – together.

Now, we’re off to work on our "35km" playlist. It might include some Country music, but don’t judge – we’re in this for the long haul.
