Cancer is tough, but we're tougher

In May 2021, I’m challenging myself to walk 35km as part of the Women’s Cancer Challenge. I’m doing it to raise much-needed funds for women’s cancer research right here in WA at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

There is so much more to be done to ensure that the women of WA – our mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loved ones – living with cancer stay with us for as long as possible. I am training and fundraising in the lead up to the event. I'd be so grateful for your support. If you can't join me (I'd love the company), please give generously to my donation page.

Please help me, help the Perkins.

Let’s walk towards a cancer-free future – together.

My Story....

“A lot of people probably didn’t know, but around this time last year I was recovering from major surgery after having my own run in with the big scary C - word ‘CANCER’! Fortunately for me though I was able to catch it all early, with the amazing help and support from my now new doctor who specialises in women’s health, (it’s always important to go get a second opinion)! As I know a lot of women aren’t so lucky!

If you know me you’ve probably heard me going on and on about how obsessed I am about walking 18km around the beautiful Swan River. So when I stumbled across this link, it pulled at my heart strings. Not only because I want to challenge myself in walking the 35km in one day, but also because I know how blessed I feel to be sitting on the other side of a successful surgery.  Thank you to the amazing men and women at King Edward Memorial Hospital and to Dr Sahi at Total Health Ellenbrook, who made that possible. While laying in my hospital bed at night I could hear the cries of many women who didn’t receive the same good news. It broke my heart and as I lay there praying for them.....so this is for them and for every other women who has had the dream of becoming a mother taken away from them through cancer! This is for HOPE for tomorrow!

To all my friends and family all that I ask is that you please donate to such an amazing cause! Any amount would be greatly appreciated! I’m so thankful for the people I have in my life especially my sister in law Susan who nursed me back to health and Skye and Lisa who have always been on my team! They will also be by my side in completing this challenge. Our team name is ‘Running on coffee and Grace”, so please follow the link and donate! I promise we won’t let you down on the day!” 🤍
