My Journey

I have taken part in the Walk for Women's Cancer for the past 2 years in honour of my lovely family friend Steph.

In 2025, 3 weeks after the walk  I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.   6 rounds of chemotherapy with immunotherapy and a double mastectomy followed. I am still undergoing treatment but thanks to previous research and improvements in cancer treatment my outlook is good.

I am taking part again to help raise funds for cancer research with the hope that other women won't have to hear the words  "you have cancer" and can avoid the emotional and physical roller coaster that comes with a  cancer diagnosis.

Please help me, help the Perkins.

My Updates

Cancer ends with me!

On Saturday 2 May 2026, I'm challenging myself to walk 35km as part of the New Town Toyota Walk for Women's Cancer. I'm doing this Walk to do something big for our mums, sisters, daughters, friends and loved ones living with cancer.

Let’s walk towards a cancer-free future – together.
