This is my 2nd year walking for womens cancer.
Cancer is tough, but we're tougher
In May 2020, I’m challenging myself to walk 35km in one day as part of the Hawaiian Walk for Women’s Cancer. I’m doing it to raise much needed funds for women’s cancer research right here in WA at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
I have my Mum and I am a Mum. But 2 families I know have lost their Mum's to Cancer. What breaks my hearts about these families is neither had a father around. One had lost his battle with cancer then other was an amazing Foster Mum so cared for her kids on her own. The kids have had to deal with life at a young age without a Mum. These women have missed out on major milestones in their children's lives and the children have had to endure the pain of knowing that their Mum is not there whenever they need them.
I can't cure cancer, but I have a body that enables me to do what I can to help. Please help me, help the Perkins.
Let’s walk towards a cancer-free future – together.
