My Updates

Let's see the end of cancer!

2024 is my time to do something big for our mums, sisters, daughters, friends and loved ones living with women's cancers. I’m doing this walk because no one should have to hear those two terrible words, “It’s cancer.”

This year, I’m committing to help the amazing women’s cancer researchers at WA’s Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. I’m training, fundraising and walking to support this cause. I’d be so grateful for your support.

I'm looking to expand our great team this year. Hello Titty, is in its 10th year. Let's celebrate by making this our best fundraising year ever. If you can’t join us walking, please give generously to my fundraising page.

I joined the team to support my wonderful niece Michele Librizzi, but now there are so many more in my life who have suffered at the hand of cancer. I too have had two melanomas removed in the last 18 months. Now like many others I wait and watch, having quarterly skin checks.  The scars are a reminder of the damage that cancer does to our bodies.

The Perkins research many types of cancer but the money from this particular fundraising walk goes to breast and ovarian cancer. On this occasion the Perkins is dedicated to helping the women in our lives. (I also recognise that men too get breast cancer.) They’re focused on pioneering medical breakthroughs and discovering new treatments for this disease and they won’t stop until cancer is history. That means so much to me. Please help me, help them.

Let’s do this because cancer ends with us.

Sore feet

Sadly I have blisters on both feet that are going to prevent further training for a few days. 20km on the treadmill!

Quilts for sale

We still have a number of the pretty striped quilts that were made by the Wednesday Quilters that are for sale. These are from fabric from Geoffrey's collection.

Success of the quilt show

With sales of nearly $2,000, $260 in gate tickets plus direct donations on this day of $278 this is going to become an annual fundraising event.

All Set for Some Serious Training!

Holidays over! Covid recovered from. All clear with the melanoma, so no surgery to squeeze in.
Walking friends here I come! One of me sitting around a few years ago. :)
