Cancer is tough, but we're tougher
In May 2020, I’m challenging myself to walk 35km in one day as part of the Hawaiian Walk for Women’s Cancer. I’m doing it to raise much needed funds for women’s cancer research right here in WA at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
There is so much more to be done to ensure that the women of WA – our mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loved ones – living with cancer stay with us for as long as possible. I am training and fundraising in the lead up to the event. I'd be so grateful for your support. If you can't join me (I'd love the company), please give generously to my donation page.
Please help me, help the Perkins.
Let’s walk towards a cancer-free future – together.

Thank You Perkins Research Clinic
As a result of radiation side affect, I have clots on my lungs. some days I had a lot of trouble breathing which can be quite tiring. I also experienced excessive burping.
In October when my daughter suggedsted we did a 35 km walk to help raise funding for futher research, I was a little aghast however we began, 1 km, 2 km, 4 km then 4 km in an hour. I was so proud of myself. I really wanted to do this having lost parents, family and dear friends to the dreaded "C".
I now walk between 12 and 14 km a day with one day set asisde for 18-24 km. The bonus along the way, since November I have had absolutely no trouble breathing and the burping is almost non existent.
along the way we have been encouraged by so many special people who have helped us raise over $6,000 so far.
Thank you Perkins, without this incentive I would still be inactive and still having trouble breathing.
Iam honoured to be a part of this very special event
