Cancer is tough, but we're tougher
In May 2020, I’m challenging myself to walk 42km -a full marathon (35km plus the additional 7 km challenge route) in one day as part of the Hawaiian Walk for Women’s Cancer.
I’m undertaking this challenge for a few reasons.
Firstly, to show support for my friends and family that have unfortunately had to endure a cancer diagnosis and the fight that comes with it.
Also, to raise awareness of the need to be vigilant and proactive in your checks for cancer, as the earlier the detection, the better the chance of survival.
And finally, to assist and contribute in some way to the much-needed fundraising into not just Women’s Cancer but All Cancers through medical research so that we can one day hopefully find a cure
There is so much more to be done to ensure that the women of WA – our mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and loved ones – living with cancer stay with us for as long as possible.
I am training and fundraising in the lead up to the event. I'd be so grateful for your support. If you can't join me (I'd love the company), please give generously to my donation page.
Please help me, help the Perkins.
Let’s walk towards a cancer-free future – together.
