WHAT TO EXPECT
The New Town Toyota Walk for Women’s Cancer is more than just a walk, it’s a journey of hope, strength, and community.
Walkers can expect a supported and inspiring day filled with camaraderie as people of all ages and abilities come together to support vital women's cancer research at the Perkins.
The event features a scenic route, pitstops, plenty of cheering along the way and a vibrant atmosphere at the finish line, complete with music, refreshments, and celebrations.
Whether you're walking solo or with a team, the Walk is your chance to make a difference while creating unforgettable memories.

GOING THE DISTANCE
The official route is 35km. But for those who wish to complete a full marathon there is a 42km route for the brave! You can also choose to do the Walk over seven days in the lead up to the official event day. However, if you choose to do it over seven days, we hope you will still join us for the beginning of the Walk and complete your last 5km on the day.

OPENING CEREMONY
The opening ceremony is the most heartfelt and emotional part of the day. Come together with your fellow walkers to hear from the Perkins team, your official Walk ambassadors, and those who we have loved and lost. The opening ceremony is a time to celebrate and reflect.

PIT STOPS
You'll be supplied with snacks, a nutritious lunch and toilet facilities along the route. Professor Leedman (aka Dr Lolly) will also be out and about with his secret stash of sweet treats!

PODIATRY
35km is definitely hard on your feet! That’s why included podiatry and foot care will be waiting for you on course and at the finish line.

POST EVENT CELEBRATIONS
After completing your Walk, it's time to celebrate! Stick around for the post-Walk festivities, where you can enjoy a well-deserved drink and delicious bites while relaxing with your family and friends.
