Generosity in spades today

Today I posted on my social media my inspiration for this years walk; my sister, my best friend and my aunty.  I lost them in the last 6 months and it goes without saying that I dedicate my 2026 walk to the 3 of them.

I posted my fundraising link (for Harry Perkins - breast and ovarian cancer research) and also gave people the opportunity to support other charities linked more closely with the cancers which took them from me (us): Cancer Council Tasmania (for lung cancer) and Sock it to Sarcoma here in WA.

I had about 6 donations to my personal fundraising page in about an hour and it pushed me into "Queen Bee" territory; a special level of fundraising than many aspire to achieve. I reached this level because of the generosity of individuals who have donated, as well as many personal contacts who donated goods for our recent Quiz Night which were auctioned, raffled or given away as prizes!.

I feel very fortunate, not to mention grateful, to be surrounded by so many generous souls.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

xx

Please help me, help the Perkins.

My Updates

Cancer ends with me!

On Saturday 2 May 2026, I'm challenging myself to walk 35km as part of the New Town Toyota Walk for Women's Cancer. I'm doing this Walk to do something big for our mums, sisters, daugthers, friends and loved ones living with cancer.

This year I'm committed to raising vital funds for women’s cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research because the women we cherish deserve to live longer, healthier lives free from cancer.

There is so much more to be done to ensure that women of WA confronting cancer stay with us for as long as possible. I am training and fundraising in the lead up to the event. I would be so grateful for your support. If you can't join me (I'd love your company), please give generously to my donation page.

I don't want anyone to have to hear "You have cancer". Please help me and the Perkins make that happen.

Let’s walk towards a cancer-free future – together.

Training

Team training with old and new team members. Was a glorious Perth day to get 10kms under the belt! If May 2nd could be like today it will be a perfect day to walk.

This year it’s personal

I joined this event 12 years ago  to walk with friends and fundraise for a good cause. At the time I had no direct connection to cancer.  But now, all that has changed considerably.  In the past 6 months I have lost an aunty, sister and best friend to this dreadful disease.

So now, it’s very personal.

My inspiration 🙏💜

This year it’s VERY personal. In the last 6 months I have  lost my sister, my best friend and my aunty. I’ll be walking 42km in their honour and raising as much money as I can to support ongoing research to find a cure for cancer 💰 🧬🔬💜
