I AM WALKING IN HONOUR OF My mother, Tarnya Denn

Your grandchildren

One of the things Mum always loved was kids.
I often heard her talking to others saying she spent her favourite 5 years crawling on the floor with us 3 kids.
It was very bittersweet when her 2 grandchildren were born because of that.
Mum I know you would have absolutely adored the 2 girls.
I am sad that they miss out on your fun curious and creative world.
We talk about you often, the girls know they have Grandma who loves them.
We miss you so much.

Please help me, help the Perkins.

My Updates

Cancer Stops With Me!

On Saturday 2 May 2026, I'm challenging myself to walk 35km as part of the New Town Toyota Walk for Women's Cancer. I'm doing this Walk to do something big for our mums, sisters, daugthers, friends and loved ones living with cancer.

This year I'm committed to raising vital funds for women’s cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research because the women we cherish deserve to live longer, healthier lives free from cancer.

There is so much more to be done to ensure that women of WA confronting cancer stay with us for as long as possible. I am training and fundraising in the lead up to the event. I would be so grateful for your support. If you can't join me (I'd love your company), please give generously to my donation page.

I don't want anyone to have to hear "You have cancer". Please help me and the Perkins make that happen.

Let’s walk towards a cancer-free future – together.

Tarnya Denn

In 2003, my brilliant mother Tarnya Denn was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer at 43 years old.
She underwent a double mastectomy, radiation and chemotherapy.
She went into remission for 5 years before the cancer came back in her bones and spread throughout her body.
She fought (and shone) strongly until her passing on 26th January 2015.
When Mum's cancer returned, Mum underwent numerous trial chemotherapies, which in her words was "so that my children and their children never have to experience Cancer"

Mum we love you so much and we miss you everyday.
