I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated so far. I feel so grateful that I can contribute to vital cancer research. While fundraising, my aim has been to inspire other young people to be kind and give up their time, money or services to help others.
Please keep the donations flooding through. My cupcake fundraisers have been successful so far, with my Easter Cupcake Drive coming up on March 30. Looking forward to our amazing Purple Hearts team event on Sunday.

Cancer ends with me!

2024 is my time to do something big for our mums, sisters, daughters, friends and loved ones living with cancer. I’m doing this Walk because no one should have to hear those two terrible words, “It’s cancer.”

This year, I’m committing to help the amazing women’s cancer researchers at WA’s Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. I’m training, fundraising and walking to support this cause. I’d be so grateful for your support.

If you can’t join me (I’d love the company), please give generously to my fundraising page.

The Perkins is dedicated to helping the women in our lives. They’re focused on pioneering medical breakthroughs and discovering new treatments for this disease and they won’t stop until cancer is history. That means so much to me. Please help me, help them.

Lessy’s Walk 2024

As many of you know, I have Crohn’s Disease, an autoimmune condition (also known as IBD) which causes inflammation in the digestive tract. Next year in April, I will be participating in the Walk for Women’s Cancer for the 3rd time - I will be walking 35km in one day, to raise money for cancer research through the Harry Perkins Institute. The past 2 years, I have been too unwell to participate in this event, however, despite my illness, I am determined to participate next year. 

I would like to dedicate my walk to all those who have IBD or Colon/Bowel Cancer. Our risk (IBD sufferers) of developing these types of cancer is significantly higher than that of the average person. I would like to raise awareness about IBD and cancer, whilst also raising much needed funds for cancer research. 

I have participated in the walk twice, raising a total of around $9000 over 2 years. I aim aiming to bring my cumulative total to well over $10,000.
